Názov vína odkazuje na najrozsiahlejšiu erupciu sopky Etna v roku 1614. Tá trvala dlhých desať rokov. Vinič sa pestuje vo vysokej nadmorskej výške na pôde s obsahom sopečnej lávy. Víno má čistý, ovocný prejav s excelentnou aciditou. Pripomína zelené jablko, biele kvety a med.
