Description

Novinka v portfóliu. McDiarmid Hill je drahokamom v kolekcii tohto vinárstva. Nachádza sa ne severnom ostrove v Gisborne, ktorá je ideálnou lokalitou pre ambiciózne vína z tejto odrody. Vinohrad má severnú orientáciu s prímorskou klímou, ktorú ovplyvňuje chladný pacifický vietor. Časť vinohradu sa pestuje bez zavlažovania. Vysadený klon Chardonnay pochádza z Argentíny (Mendoza). Nízke výnosy a spontánna fermentácia zaručujú dostatok štruktúry a harmónie. Víno fermentovalo s batonnage 11 mesiacov. Pomer nových sudov bol 47%. Víno bolo len jemne čírené, bez hrubej filtrácie. Komplexné a ušľachtilé v chuti s vynikajúcim priestorom pre vyzrievanie.

Postupne vinárstvo rástlo a dnes patrí k najlepším a k najúspešnejším vinárstvám Nového Zélandu. Má 300 stálych zamestnancov.
